Dedicated to the memory of Catherine Leigh

This site is in honour of Catherine Leigh wife of the late Harry Leigh.

Much loved Mum of Sue and Shelagh and son-in-law, Trevor.

Much loved Grandma of Susie and husband, Adam and Great Grandma of Paul.

Much loved Grandma of Shona and partner, Andrew.

Much loved Grandma of Harry and partner, Alice.

Catherine will be sorely missed by family, friends and carers from Victoria Court Residential Home.

She and Harry were born in the same street, went to school together and were childhood sweethearts who were married for sixty-three years. Catherine was known as Rena throughout her life, but preferred to be called Catherine in her latter years.

A proud Scot, Catherine was an active member of Balshagary Parish Church (later known as Balshagray Victoria Park Church) in Glasgow for decades and made many friends during her time there. She was a health visitor, yoga teacher and keen amateur golfer during her life. She was ladies captain at Cawder Golf Club, a prestigious position and one she was proud of.

During her nursing career, Catherine worked in Glasgow as a fever nurse before working with disabled children, then moving into health visiting for her remaining working years.

In later life she cared for Harry after he developed dementia until he had to go into a nursing home following a stroke. Dementia care is close to the family's heart and they ask that rather than send flowers, donations be made to Dementia UK.
